Two longtime Sarasota law firms merge

Syprett Meshad P.A. and Eastmoore Crauwels & DuBose today announced they have agreed to a merger that will unite the two long-established local law firms under the name Syprett Meshad & DuBose.

The union brings together two premier Sarasota-based firms with decades of experience serving clients across Southwest Florida and broadening each firm’s capabilities.

Founded more than 50 years ago, Syprett Meshad provides representation across multiple practice areas including complex personal injury litigation, commercial litigation, family law, real estate, probate, and criminal defense. With a history dating more than 35 years, Eastmoore Crauwels & DuBose has built a reputation for handling complex personal injury, medical malpractice and legal malpractice cases throughout the region.

“With this merger, we are bringing together two of Sarasota’s most established and recognized firms,” said Scott Westheimer, partner at Syprett Meshad P.A. and Past President of The Florida Bar.  “Both of us have long histories in this community, and we share the same commitment to providing high-quality legal representation while remaining a locally focused firm.”

Proof of this shared heritage is found in the rich history of service in the Sarasota County Bar Association as well as current and former leadership within The Florida Bar. This reflects the firms’ longstanding involvement in the profession at both the local and statewide levels.

Syprett Meshad’s comprehensive legal services will now be complemented by Eastmoore,  Crauwels and DuBose’s extensive experience in medical malpractice, personal injury litigation, and legal malpractice matters. Under the new combined entity, E. Keith DuBose and Warren Chin will join the firm as partners, Ted Eastmoore will serve as Of Counsel and Charles “Chuck” Demchak will join the other associates. They will be joined by additional legal and support staff.

“For our clients, this new alliance strengthens our ability to handle complex litigation while maintaining the personalized service for which our firms are known,” said E. Keith DuBose. “We are excited to join forces with a firm that shares our commitment to excellence and our dedication to the Sarasota community.”

Westheimer noted the merger reinforces their commitment to remaining a strong, locally rooted practice at a time when many regional firms are being absorbed by larger statewide or national organizations.

The firm will continue operating from Syprett Meshad’s Sarasota office and will be introducing updated branding and a new website in the near future in conjunction with the launch of Syprett Meshad & Dubose.
