Attorney Amanda M. King joined Syprett Meshad, the predecessor law firm of Syprett Meshad & DuBose, in 2010 and was made a partner in 2017. Amanda exclusively practices in marital and family law including prenuptial agreements, divorce, paternity, custody, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, modifications, and relocations.  She is committed to working with her clients to create a customized approach and strategy for each individual case, recognizing the emotional and practical needs of clients and their children. Her practice includes litigation, uncontested divorce and parenting plan agreements, mediation, and collaborative family law. In 2021, Ms. King was first selected to the Florida Super Lawyers list; only 5 percent of lawyers in the state are selected for this annual honor. She has continued to be designated as a Super Lawyer every year since.

Amanda also frequently serves as a private Guardian ad Litem in the Family Law Division of Florida’s 12th Judicial Circuit Court program, and has served as a trainer for new Guardians ad Litem as well.  In that role, she works closely with parents, educators, and mental health professionals to protect the best interests of children whose parents are involved in the Family Court system.

Amanda is involved in variety of community and legal organizations. She served twice as Chair of the Family Law Section of the Sarasota County Bar Association, and has been a frequent speaker on family law matters in the community. She spent five years on the Board of Directors of the Sarasota County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division, where she served as Treasurer and Social Chair. She then served for three years on the Board of Directors of the Sarasota County Bar Association, and remains active with the local Bar.

As the proud owner of many rescue pets over the years, Amanda is a longtime supporter of animal rescue organizations, including Nate’s Honor Rescue, Florida Great Pyrenees Rescue, and Sarasota Humane Society.

Amanda earned her Juris Doctorate in 2007 from Tulane University School of Law. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion, both from the University of Florida.

Amanda is admitted to practice law in Florida, as well as California, where she worked previously as a Deputy Public Defender.
